Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel, and jazz into his distinctive style. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing at church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan and has since been remixed by many producers and remains the mainstay of her live set. Her voice has also been a part of voice to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She took on the role of primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of notice during the four performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
